Making a case (for opening an online wine shop)

During the summer of 2019, together with my sister Lindsey and our friend Julie, we decided to band together our knowledge of wine and Italian connections to open a travel agency. Our focus would be bespoke Italian travel--and of course, wine--and we were ready to channel everything we had into making our dream a reality. And it was going well for a bit. Summer 2020 plans were underway with many of our clients being first-time visitors to Italy--we were ready to share Il Bel Paese with them. And then, the unthinkable happened: the world shut down.

With our travel plans at a standstill, we were uncertain on how to proceed. But like any good team, we did a brainstorm session in resilience and came up with an equally exciting plan for our customers to experience Italy and its wines from the safety of their own homes. While my title is the Corporate Mastermind, we truly couldn’t have done it without the support, creativity, and flexibility of Julie and Lindsey--their talents spanning everywhere from research to basic sanity- keeping exercises. And from these new efforts, The Italian Cellar was born.

We promise that The Italian Cellar will be a travel experience like no other--and you won’t even have to leave your house!

Built to suit every taste and budget, you’ll be sure to find a plan that works for you. Whether you choose every 3 months or a monthly subscription, you’ll receive a case of your choice full of amazing wines from a single region in Italy, plus printed tasting notes, recipe ideas, and historical information to help you feel more connected to not only Italy, but the global world at large.

Welcome to The Italian Cellar. Saluti!
